California's Greenhouse Gas Emissions Map

The California Environmental Protection Agency has released a Google Map to display the large facilities regulated under California's Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap and their reported greenhouse gas emissions.

The GHG Facilities and Emissions Visualization is a map that allows users to click on individual facilities and view their emissions by year and by type of greenhouse gas. If you click on the 'Earth' view you can get a very good overall comparison of the emissions of all the facilities via the Google Earth browser plugin.

In the Google Earth view the map markers are displayed elevated above the ground. The height of each marker represents the total amount of emissions reported by the indicated facility.

Looks like California has areas prone to Greenhouse gases. That explains the booming production of vehicles that emits it.
